๐ฅ๐ท Last Sunday, October 6, was World Communion Sunday, an annual occasion to remember our connectedness with Christ’s church all over the world. In a divided world and a divided nation, the witness of the Eucharist is a powerful sign of unity and shared humility before God’s throne of mercy and grace. As humans, we have, as the scripture says, “one Lord, one faith, one baptism.” We have a common need for God’s mercy and a common redemption in Jesus Christ. It’s a truth we need to remember every year, but perhaps especially in an election year.
๐ผ RPC celebrated with special communion liturgy during worship, a beautiful hanging mobile in the Sanctuary, and a tableau vivant, French for "living picture," as our pastors, staff, and members participated in recreating Leonardo's "The Last Supper," as interpreted in mural-form by RPC member and artist, Kathy Stark. It was a grateful celebration of communion!
